Bubbledogs, London

Posted on 06:31 by suresh kumar
I finally get to write a blog post about a meal with Clare! Clare is probably one of the few people I know who is as obsessed with food as I am; we have a list of restaurants we want to go to together and are slowly working our way through it.

Patty and Bun!

At the Rum Kitchen (seafood gumbo and cornbread for me, and curried mutton with rice and peas and slaw for Clare)

Admiral Codrington

Last night we went to Bubbledogs.

It's a champagne bar which also serves hot dogs - an unusual coupling but the hot dog toppings sounded so good we just had to visit! We actually decided not to have champagne - why waste useful money and calories on alcohol when there is food to be bought and eaten?!

We always say that the other is the only person we don't mind sharing food with - it can be so stressful with people you don't know well - what if they hardly eat anything so you feel ridiculously greedy?! Or, even worse, what if they don't share properly and eat more than they should?! So anyway we decided to share two hot dogs. The first we had was the sloppy joe (chilli and cheese) which we added jalapeños to, and we had this with a beef hot dog.

The second was the Reuben - sauerkraut, russian sauce and swiss cheese - and we had this with a pork hot dog.

A good amount of cheese!
The hotdogs were really good with plenty of topping, and also the bun was big enough to hold everything without making too much of a mess. I have had better chilli though, and we both preferred the pork hot dog.

Sides wise we had one of everything. Sweet potato fries and "cheese whiz" (basically just cheese sauce!)

"Tots"

And coleslaw

The sweet potato fries were really good and the cheese whiz was nicely strong. The tots were like tiny hash browns and were crisp and tasty and the coleslaw was nice and not overloaded with mayonnaise (my worst coleslaw crime).

Blurry action shot

Loving life ("2k13 xXx")

The whole beautiful picture
The whole meal only came to £14 each including service charge which we thought was great.
On a sad note, they don't do dessert, so we went for frozen yoghurt afterwards - fat free so it was fine!
