I discovered this place thanks to Emma, one of the really good friends I made in Toulouse (you deserve the credit Emma!)! My dad and I decided to go there for lunch on the Sunday he left - it's one of the rare restaurants in Toulouse which is actually open on Sundays so it's even more of a gem for that reason!
Cider and pretending to understand all the French news |
For main I was intending to have a salad, but when in France....
Prawn and chorizo crêpe with "pistou", a French version of pesto! |
My dad chose the Toulouse sausage crêpe with a balsamic dressing and a leek "fondant"
For pudding they have some amazing combinations, such as a bounty, coconut ice cream and chocolate sauce, or toblerone, ice cream and cream, as well as the classics like nutella or maple syrup. I usually have one with apple, salted caramel sauce, salted caramel ice cream, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream which is basically heaven on a plate
A not very good picture with my old camera, but you get the gist! |
It was incredible. At first I was worried there wasn't enough nutella (for someone who can just eat it out of the jar) but they'd actually got it just right - the crêpe was so sweet that it made my brain feel fuzzy (if anyone knows what I mean...!), but in an extremely good way...
My dad went for his favourite, salted caramel. Using his word, he didn't want to "taint" it with any fruit...!
Yum. Salted caramel and nutella can make everything better.
